As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Manager, Talent Acquisition, Training & Health & Safety to lead our recruitment, learning and development, Health & Safety, and employee engagement initiatives. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, creating engaging learning experiences, promoting workplace safety, and partnering with leaders across the organization.

Position Summary:
The Manager, Talent Acquisition, Training & Health & Safety is responsible for leading the Company's talent acquisition strategy, employee training and development programs, Health & Safety initiatives, Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), and employee engagement activities. This role ensures the organization attracts and develops talented employees while maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive work environment.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this position works collaboratively with the HR Manager – Employee Relations & Compliance to support the overall employee lifecycle. While this role leads recruitment, training, and Health & Safety initiatives, the HR Manager – Employee Relations & Compliance maintains primary responsibility for onboarding, employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, accommodations, leave administration, policy interpretation, disciplinary matters, and employment compliance.

Talent Acquisition:
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment and selection process for all Production and Office positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, recruitment strategies, and interview processes.
  • Source, screen, interview, and recommend qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate reference checks, background checks, employment offers, and recruitment documentation.
  • Maintain recruitment metrics, talent pipelines, and recruitment SOPs.
  • Conduct market compensation benchmarking and support workforce planning initiatives.
  • Ensure recruitment practices comply with applicable legislation and Company policies.

Training & Development:
  • Lead and coordinate training and development programs for all employees, including full-time, temporary, agency, contract, and co-op employees.
  • Facilitate Company orientation and mandatory compliance training.
  • Work closely with supervisors and managers to identify training needs and coordinate departmental training plans.
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs while maintaining the Company's training matrix.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, manuals, and learning resources.
  • Monitor training completion, certifications, and legislative compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.

Health & Safety:
  • Serve as Co-Chair of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Coordinate JHSC meetings, inspections, certifications, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain the Company's Health & Safety Program, including Fire Safety, Emergency Response, Evacuation, and Accessibility Plans.
  • Coordinate fire drills, emergency response exercises, and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Maintain Red Book binders, training records, safety documentation, and Health & Safety KPIs.
  • Coordinate mandatory Health & Safety training and certification programs.
  • Support WSIB administration, return-to-work planning, workplace investigations, and Ministry of Labour compliance activities in collaboration with the HR Manager – Employee Relations & Compliance.

HR Operations & Collaboration:
  • Develop and maintain recruitment, training, and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Maintain HR records, reports, and documentation within HUMI.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Manager – Employee Relations & Compliance to support employee lifecycle initiatives, legislative compliance, and organizational projects.
  • Partner with supervisors, managers, and senior leadership to support operational objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment:
  • Full-time, onsite position based at the Company's manufacturing facility in Vaughan, Ontario.
  • Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flexibility may be required to support recruitment activities, training sessions, Health & Safety initiatives, Company events, or operational requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • CHRP designation required; CHRL is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in talent acquisition, training, and Health & Safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), AODA, WSIB, and applicable Ontario employment legislation.
  • Experience leading recruitment, employee training, Health & Safety programs, and Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) initiatives.
  • Proficiency with HUMI or a comparable HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
