Position Summary:
Stage Windows & Doors is looking for an experienced Lead Hand – Paint Department to support our manufacturing team. This is a full-time, on-site, hands-on position responsible for leading daily paint operations, coordinating employees, maintaining production flow, and ensuring painted products meet our quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience with industrial spray painting and is comfortable leading and working alongside a production team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the daily work of the Paint Department.
  • Assign tasks and ensure production priorities are completed on time.
  • Perform and oversee surface preparation, spraying, painting, curing, and finishing.
  • Set up and operate spray guns, spray booths, and related paint equipment.
  • Inspect finished products for colour, coverage, consistency, and overall quality.
  • Identify and correct paint defects or quality concerns.
  • Train and support employees on proper painting methods, equipment use, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure employees follow PPE, chemical handling, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Keep paint equipment and work areas clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Monitor paint and material supplies and report shortages when required.
  • Work with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and keep production moving.
  • Report production, quality, safety, or equipment concerns to the Production Supervisor.
  • Support continuous improvement and help reduce paint waste, defects, and downtime.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of industrial painting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with spray painting and industrial paint equipment.
  • Previous Lead Hand, Team Lead, or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Experience in windows, doors, aluminum, automotive, metal finishing, or a similar manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Good understanding of paint preparation, application, and finishing.
  • Strong attention to quality and detail.
  • Able to lead employees and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
